Cash Assistance Work Activities Program
OWF Cash Assistance Work Activity Program Individuals who apply for OWF cash assistance are required to complete an assessment of their employability and participate in a work activity assignment for a specified number of hours per month. Work activity assignments include, but are not limited to, participating in the agency’s Job Search Program, attending employment related workshops, and/or work at one of the county’s Work Experience Program sites. The number of hours an individual must complete per month is determined according to factors such as, single parent or two-parent family, the age of the youngest child, and the amount of the cash and food assistance grants. The number of hours per month an individual must complete ranges from 86 -151. Failure to complete the assigned work activity component may result in the family’s benefits being closed.
