The Shelby County Department of Job and Family Services offers a summer Youth Employment Program for youth ages 14 - 24 years old. The goal of the program is to enable eligible youth to gain valuable work experience while earning a paycheck. |
To be eligible the youth must be either 14-17 years old and in school or 18 years old if they are a full time student in a secondary school; 18-24 years old, as long as they are in a family that has a minor child; or 18-24 and has a minor child of their own. The family income must be no greater than 200% of the federal poverty level. Applications are accepted beginning April 1st of each year. The employment placements generally begin the middle of May and run through the end of the summer. Funding for this program is provided by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. |
