Adult and Dislocated Worker Training Program
The OhioMeansJobs Center of Shelby County has training funds available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federal program, to help individuals upgrade their skills or train for a new career. Training may be completed through classroom training or through an On-The-Job Training Program. The goal of WIOA is to place individuals into employment with which they can adequately support themselves and their families. Funding is potentially available for Adults and Dislocated Workers.
The Dislocated Worker Program serves workers who have been terminated or laid off and are unlikely to return to their previous occupation, or terminated or laid off due to a mass layoff or a plant closing. This program also serves displaced homemakers, who due to certain situations, such as a divorce or the death of a spouse, are no longer supported by the income of that family member and military spouses. |
